Weekend Shenadigans and a revelation.

11 Oct

One of my favourite classes at the old gym was Body Pump – free weight class paired with kick ass music and a instructor who was a hoot. On Saturday, I swapped out my regular gym routine for a BP class. I had a blast, it was a new routine with updated music – David Cook, Beyonce etc. Awesome. I might make it a regular swap because, it’s fun though it sucks to have to lug your gym shoes halfway across the island all day.

With a trip to San Francisco looming in the background, I decided that I needed cool slouchy boots so after gym, I went on a mini shopping spree. Came home with a pair of boots, navy blue stockings, three staple t-shirts in various shades and a Zee Avi CD. Way more shopping that I should have done.

Which brings me to my revelation – I fit into regular size clothes pretty easily. On Friday, I was at MNG and I fit into the L there easily. It sounds quite trippy for those who buy off the rack with ease but, for me it was surprising. My mind hasn’t caught up with the changes my body has made on most days. Most days, I believe that I am bigger that I am.

On a sad note, I had 3/4 of small popcorn bag at the movies and, I weighed in with a 1.4kg weight gain. I’ll know in a week if the gain is for real but, all signs are pointing at carb retention right now. Still sad. I have to cut out the midnight chocolate square binge, DAMN YOU RITTER SPORT!

Parading my new dress, new leggings, boots and not so new chunk of a belt. I don’t intend to wear those leggings and boots together with the dress. I was just being a vainpot.

Absolutely bizarre.

Spent the weekend in Penang. Mother goose is HUGE on shopping so, invariably aside the food places..all I saw of Penang were the insides of malls. Specifically, two malls. The cheap asian in me only loves outlet shopping. All others, I could care less about. Three days, two malls and one sad panda (me). Had no choice but to take the opportunity to add a couple staples to my wardrobe. Found a gorgeous (i.e: cheap!) faux bustier top for work that was a size smaller than their biggest size. This is fitting into an ASIAN size, BIG deal for me! Walked into Forever 21 and fit into a regular L size t-shirt and a couple of L tops. It was a touch snug but, I could fit in it without someone yelling “GET A SIZE BIGGER, YO!” I walked away with nothing because, I did not like it.

Another revelation, not purchasing something with the sole reason that I disliked it even though I can a) fit into it and b) afford it. It will take me awhile to wrap my head around that one

I constantly think about my rewards when I am at goal. One of the many "quirky" rewards I joke about is heading to my old (well, technically I am still a member) gym – California Fitness during PEAK hour, straight to the meathead section, load up the bar with weight after weight and proceed bench/squat/ deadlift some ridunklous weight!! My friend, M is in it too because, she’ll need to loan me her buff hubs who will spot me so I don’t smash my head/face in.

It is so funny, I definitely am looking forward to it. Silly what motivates us, isn’t it? While shopping with the girls the other day, I chanced upon a skirt I’d love to use when I’m a skinny fit minny. Hopefully with legs that appear like they can squat double my body weight (since I’m day dreaming visualising)

WIthout a puppy paunch, please?

Nike Factory Outlet Singapore

1 May

Took a drive west and made it to Singapore’s only Nike Factory Outlet

While it is not sprawling in comparison to the other Nike factory outlets I have been to (California, Perth etc), it is a substantial space for this city.

An awesome range of Nike products from clothes to footwear at truly outlet prices. During a sale, an average Nike dri fit sports bra will cost $35 (RP: $50) but, at the outlet, it goes for $28. There was a couple of items that are still in the regular sports stores that are available at the outlet for a great discount so, definitely stop by if you are in the area.

I left with a single item seeing how my HK trip is looming close and I need to keep my eye on my purse strings.
